Childhood Obesity
American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations:
Help your child to enjoy activity. Find something they would like to do. They will be more likely to continue.
In this age of technology children need to remain active. Children need to play with balls, jump ropes and other toys that promote activity.
Some children are over scheduled with extra curricular activities such as music lessons and homework, leaving little time for exercise. Make the time to become active.
Childhood Obesity can lead to lifelong weight problems as well as chronic medical conditions.
Research has shown that, 45-60 minutes of activity on as many days as possible, even at 15 minutes intervals, can make a difference.
